On Saturday the 22nd of September, 2018. Mr Amuwa Kehinde Matthew claimed he lost his mobile phone on a bus while in transit from FESTAC to Airport road.
Getting to the bank on Monday the 24th of September by 10.00am to demand his bank statement when he saw the shocking news that the sum of #300,000 naira VIA counter withdrawal has been carried out on his savings account in two tranches by D-Donsky Nig. Ltd (non-registered), with #600 naira charge for the withdrawal slip.
He further explained that one of the transaction has a value date of 23rd September 2018 which happened to be on a Sunday. as regards to this, he has written a letter to the branch manager of FirstBank Nigeria Plc. airport bus stop.
Mr Kehinde was shocked to hear the Branch manager say that she can’t interpret the bank statement and also she can’t trace where the cash withdrawal was carried out from adding to the rudest and sarcastic manner of approach displayed by the Branch Manager.
As he further explained that a savings account is not attached to cheque transaction in confusion on how exactly the transaction was carried out, he also said that he got an additional double SMS alert charge of #268 naira and #10 naira (from 22nd of August 2018 to 22nd of September).
On the 8th of October 2018, Mr Kehinde went to the bank with his lawyer to further address the situation. The bank manager still maintaining her nonchalant attitude saying that she has not gotten a reply from First Bank Head Quarters, and there is nothing she can do about the money.
