Columbia Museum of Art

Art is one of the best things that make life worth living.  Visiting the Columbia Museum of Art allows you to connect with pieces from both locals and artists from around the world.  Recently renovated, the building is a perfect blend of old and new aesthetics, which ties in well with the art it displays.  Rotating exhibits, like the Van Gogh exhibit, come through frequently, allowing you to see art installations from all over the world whenever they come to town.

South Carolina State Museum

South Carolina is one of the oldest states in the country, so it has a lot of history to pack into its many museums.  The South Carolina State Museum is four floors of both changing and permanent exhibits that will thrill and intrigue anyone who stops in.  Just off the banks of the Congaree River, you’ll get the chance to enjoy gorgeous views and check out a shipping Canal that’s been here since before the civil war.  This museum has everything from a full-sized plane to incredible pieces from all of the many cultures that call this city home.

Edventure Children’s Museum

If you’re here with your family, consider stopping in at the EdVenture Children’s Museum!  Extremely popular with locals, this museum allows kids to have fun while learning in a hands-on setting that doesn’t talk down to them.  Over 92,000 square feet of fun and entertainment are within this museum, with 40,000 dedicated to exhibits and educational tools.  This museum is also home to a gift shop and cafe, so you can make the most out of a morning or day here!
